I think there is two sides to this coin…

I agree with Dave A and Robert in that the links to the posts will not bee seen as duplicate content because the URL is the same – so they are multiple links to the same page. A good thing in most cases!

On the other hand, following those links (to the blog and seo category pages in this example) you will see extracts from the articles and these will IMHO appear as duplicate content. I also accept Dave’s comment that search engines understand this and can separate this from syndication (where the duplicate content is on multiple sites.

Some do give e-mail addresses but never respond or reply. I’ve tried this with Tara the “Vision Medium” who was recently given as a campaign prospect. Checking it out on Google is not much help either

Here is another take – don’t overdo it either! Many large blogs are huge to manage and some even get assistance for moderating comments etc.

If you thank someone (via email for example) it is great but do it everytime and they will get a bit ticked off. So, keep it short not everytime!

Guest blogging is a great way to promote your blog readers of other blogs. It is not quite the same thin as group blogging, but I thought it was worth a mention.
